Portland, OR-July 05, 2011- Audinate, the leader in digital media networked solutions, is pleased to announce that Ed Ellett has joined Audinate’s Technical Advisory Board (TAB). Audinate revolutionizes the way audio and video can be shared by transporting high-quality media over standard IT networks. As a member of the TAB, Ed will advise Audinate on strategic market trends and consult with senior management on Audinate’s R&D programs and product road maps.

Ed Ellett has an extensive career in various senior leadership positions with major information technology companies. Ed’s career spans over 30 years ago with other leading companies including Polycom, AMD, IBM, Dell, Digital Equipment Corporation, Cyrix Corp. and Compaq Computer Corporation

Ed is the former Senior Vice-President and General Manager of the Unified Communications Video Division at Polycom.  Prior to Polycom, Ed was Vice-President and General Manager of their AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit.

Since 2008, Ed has been a technical and business advisor for various start-ups and venture funds. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Vyopta, a software company developing enterprise-class application software to simplify, adapt and optimize unified communications in business, as well as sitting on the Board of Advisors of Nuvixa, a cutting edge video camera technology company providing revolutionary immersive and interactive video capabilities. Ed also acts as a technology and business advisor to Texas Venture Labs - University of Texas at Austin.

Audinate’s Technical Advisory board comprise a sterling group of diverse experts with extensive background in A/V systems”, says Aidan Williams, Audinate’s CTO. "We are thrilled to have this opportunity to benefit from Ed’s significant experience in developing strategies for global IT companies.”

“When I first was exposed to Audinate's Dante technology, I was immediately impressed with what this team of networking experts have created,” said Ed. “Its scope as a networked A/V system solution is far reaching as Audinate is enabling capabilities not previously possible.

Audinate delivers no-hassle, self configuring, true plug-and-play digital media networking that uses standard internet protocols. Audinate’s Dante system offers a market leading solution today, while future-proofing implementations by providing a migration path to upgrade to new emerging A/V standards such as the IEEE Audio Video Bridging (“AVB”).
