Toolkit

High-end professional products such as loudspeaker controllers or mixers are likely to include general purpose processors such as ARM or PowerPC which may use a range of operating systems, and may use FPGAs (such as devices from the Xilinx or Altera families). Customers such as these may prefer to license Dante Technology in the form of soft building blocks or toolkits that they incorporate into their own hardware and integrate with their own designs.

To meet this market, Audinate has a Toolkit of optimized components for popular FPGAs, processors and operating systems. The Toolkit provides the core functionality to enable Audinate networking, allowing a Dante interface to be rapidly integrated into existing equipment.

Any product that has a built-in Ethernet control interface is well positioned to be upgraded to provide Dante Digital Audio Networking for free over the control interface. Dante does not need to take up any peripheral interfaces or slots in the equipment that are intended for audio I/O or third-party processor modules.

Where equipment does not already have an Ethernet interface, the customer needs to source an Ethernet PHY and MAC on which to build a Dante interface.
