The Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology at Virginia Tech has turned to Audinate’s technology to establish a robust, multichannel Dante network for new immersive facility, The Cube, a unique four-story theater and high-tech laboratory with one of the highest-channel count 3D audio systems in the world.
The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech presents programs that transform lives through exploration and engagement with the arts and the creative process. A significant part of this experience is The Cube, a unique, four-story, state-of-the-art Theater and high tech laboratory that serves multiple platforms of creative practice by faculty, students, and guest artists and researchers from around the world.
The SSL Network I/O: MADI-Bridge is a broadcast specification interface between MADI and Dante. It provides 64 channel interconnection per Bridge (@ 48kHz). It has redundant PSU, MADI ports and IP Network ports and sync inputs. It also features a front panel headphone socket (with rotary level control) and inbuilt headphone monitor routing for confidence monitoring and fault finding in the IP Audio domain. Front panel controls facilitate routing mono or stereo paths from MADI In, MADI Out, Dante In or Dante Out directly to the headphones with an LCD screen providing signal present metering. GPIO connections allow for transfer of tally info and switching functions across the network.
