Position Summary

Audinate is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer based in our Sydney corporate headquarters to help drive the next phase of growth for the business. The position of Chief Operating Officer shall report to the CEO and will be responsible for the overall operations of the Company. The experience level of the individual will factor into the position. The Chief Operating Officer will direct the Company’s operations organization, including the manufacturing, supply chain management, order fulfilment, project management, DevOps, and customer support functions.

Functional Responsibilities

The key roles and responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer are:

  • Work with the CEO and executive leadership team in developing and overseeing the long-term business strategies of the Company
  • Develop and lead best-in-class business processes including manufacturing, supply chain development, product delivery, customer satisfaction and quality improvements
  • Assess and manage the principal risks of the Company's business within operations
  • Work across organizational and company boundaries to ensure that we understand and address impediments to velocity and quality in our supply chain, automation tools, and qualification processes
  • Oversee the management and professional development of the global technical and customer support organization
  • Develop strategies to manage business infrastructure
  • Provide quality control reviews for third-party contract manufacturers including annual business reviews, quality audits, review of pricing and contract adherence
  • Ensure that the we have efficient systems, processes and procedures necessary to deliver the Company’s hardware and software products to customers, whilst providing outstanding ongoing support
  • Ensure that costs are managed by optimizing inventory whilst maintaining agreed lead-times
  • Oversee all aspects of order administration activity including order entry, fulfillment and logistics
  • Assist with supplier RFP preparation and analysis on new or renewed contracts and supplier purchase agreements where applicable
  • Liaison with Engineering from the earliest stages of the product lifecycle process, from influencing product design to maximum factory automation and product quality
  • Oversee the development strategies for the DevOps team to create processes and improved systems to deliver production-ready web-based services
  • Develop strategies to facilitate improved automated testing processes for product firmware and software and upgrades, and patch releases 
  • Ensure the development of health and safety practices for the Company and oversee compliance with those practices
  • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus and service and encourages individual integrity
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
  • Perform other functions related to the role as may be requested by the CEO or the Board of Directors     

Personal Specification

Essential Experience

  • 15+ years of senior management experience in a technical environment
  • Proven experience as Chief Operating Office or relevant role
  • Experience of manufacturing electronic products using offshore contract manufacturers
  • Experience with evaluation and management of global multi-product strategies and processes
  • Demonstrated results in creating and managing complex projects, including experience with global teams, budgetary constraints, resource planning, risk management, and stakeholder management
  • Good understanding of the complete product lifecycle for hardware and software products
  • Experience of coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver and support products
  • Knowledge of end-to-end sales logistics and processes
  • Strong inventory planning and management skills required
  • Experience of global operations, working across multiple time zones and cultures
  • Experience of giving presentations to investors, board members and other stakeholders

  • Electrical Engineering / Computer Science Degree
  • MBA or other business training desirable
