Senior Product Manager – Video

As a result of ongoing growth, we are now recruiting an experienced Senior Product Manager to help lead the definition and development of an exciting new portfolio of network video products for the AV industry. This role will have a direct responsibility for the entire product lifecycle, including market and competitive analysis, product definition and requirement development, go-to-market planning and on-going roadmap management.

Using Agile Scrum methodology, the Senior Product Manager will actively participate in project teams as the customer advocate. This role will work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Sales and Support organizations to make these new products commercially successful.

The position is full-time reporting to the VP of Product Management. The default location is the Audinate Sydney office, however Portland, Oregon or other locations may be considered.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed business cases and make product-related decisions based on sound commercial criteria
  • Actively participate in Agile development teams as customer requirements subject matter expert
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) development and execution
  • Define products concepts and features that delight customers through a strong focus on end-to-end customer experience and advocacy
  • Manage detailed product requirements with a deep understanding of market needs and from specific feedback from customers and industry experts
  • Conduct competitive analysis and make product recommendations on product positioning/ features
  • Interface with Development and Delivery teams by aligning with their agile methodologies and tools, and provide required product direction for successful launch
  • Own the short and long-term product roadmap and drive the feature prioritization and release planning process with engineering and project management.
  • Own the Business Plan for assigned product lines, and fully understand product costs, sales drivers, pricing, forecasting, and marketing.
  • Champion the needs of the end-customer and communicate them effectively both inside and outside the organization as required; articulate long-term product vision
  • Manage the product life cycle including ongoing product enhancements

Desired Skills

  • 8+ years of work experience in a relevant industry
  • 3+ years in a hands-on product management role
  • Solid understanding and experience in the Product Management process
  • Subject matter expertise in the application of video in professional AV
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems (Linux), desktop and server operating system systems (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux), PC hardware, and FPGA
  • Previous experience in product management or designing and implementing professional AV systems
  • Previous experience in product management of video codecs, AV over IP endpoints, and related technology desired
  • Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business priorities, manage trade-offs and articulate the rationale behind product program recommendations
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Team player, with good interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Technical skills and knowledge across a broad spectrum of disciplines appropriate to Audinate product range
  • Experience in L2/L3 network switching and routing
  • Agile product development expertise particularly using tools such as Jira and Aha!
