On January 16th and 17th, Audinate will be hosting Dante audio networking training at NAMM Show 2020 for all experience levels pertaining to Dante audio networking!
|Dates & Times:|
Free. Note: Even though this event is held at The 2020 NAMM Show, a NAMM Show badge is not required to attend the Dante training. However, if you are interested in attending The NAMM Show, please see your Dante training confirmation email for details on how to apply for a NAMM Show badge.
Note: Signing up for Dante education programs does not automatically register you for The NAMM Show. Entrance to The NAMM Show is limited to professional audio buyers and those who influence purchasing decisions at their organizations.
Time: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm (both days)
This is a hands-on workshop, teaching the basics of building a Dante network. Even for those who have worked with Dante before, this session will reveal features of Dante Controller and the various ways Dante products present their Dante audio ports and control ports that are helpful for most users. At the end of this session, attendees will have a working knowledge and confidence to set-up and operate a Dante system on dedicated (or lightly shared), unmanaged network infrastructure.
Who should attend?
This “hands-on” experience course is designed for beginner-intermediate users who learn best by ‘doing’. Following along with the course lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to try out what they are learning in real time.
What to bring
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 pm (Thursday, January 16 only)
This session is a consolidated approach to Dante Level 1-2 Certification and will prepare attendees for the certification tests. Dante Certification offers insights to how the system works and offers a base level of knowledge that is helpful when linking multiple switches, using simple managed switches, when talking to an IT department and when troubleshooting is required.
The “Dante Working Knowledge, Hands-On” class is not a prerequisite, but it is highly suggested as a companion to this session. Some topics formally shown in that session will not be repeated again in this consolidated class. If you are unable to attend both classes, a quick viewing of the Level 1-2 videos online should address topics that were moved to that class.
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 pm (Friday, January 17 only)
In this class, we will address topics appropriate for enterprise-grade networks, including Layer 3 routing, organizing devices in domains, securing devices so you limit who has access to it, and helpful tools for troubleshooting. Much of this is enabled with Dante Domain Manager, and a full tour will be given with tips for administering a centrally managed network. Yes, an audio professional can do this, no problem. Audinate specializes in making advanced IT accessible – we just focus on the use case.
This class offers a practical look at many topics covered in Dante Level 3 Certification, and is an excellent companion course for anyone looking to achieve that certification level.
Prerequisites: Audio/Video Professionals should complete Dante Level 2 Certification (or at least be exposed to the topics in that coursework). For IT Professionals, it is assumed networking topics will be known, though we still suggest the morning session of “Dante Working Knowledge, Hands-On” to gain a familiarity with the Dante A/V networked solution.
