Note: Dante devices will periodically query any configured DNS server for the existence of a Dante Domain Manager (DDM) system, via an SRV record query on port 53. The Dante devices are not acting as DNS servers, or general-purpose DNS clients, or attempting to change any DNS related configuration on the network. This feature is required for device discovery in DDM networks. If your NMS is reporting anomalous DNS queries from Dante devices on port 53 and you do not have a DDM system, you can configure your firewall to ignore the queries.
