Four Audio Debuts Dante Enabled Loudspeaker Processor at Prolight+Sound 2011

New HD2 loudspeaker processor enhanced with Audinate’s Dante™ digital networking technology and many new equalization options.

Portland, OR-March 31, 2011- Audinate, the leading developer of media networking solutions along with OEM partner Four Audio are pleased to announce the new Dante enabled HD2 loudspeaker processor for Prolight+Sound 2011.  The HD2 is a high end 4 in 8 out loudspeaker management system with advanced features such as FIR filtering with high frequency resolution down to the lowest frequencies and a dynamic input range of 135 dB.

Rainer Thaden, Four Audio’s Managing Director remarks, “Instead of emulating familiar IIR crossovers with FIR filters, we use measurements of the speakers and do the inverse of what the speaker does.” Thaden adds, “You can make the complete system of speaker and controller phase linear, even down to the lowest frequencies. Of course, all kinds of familiar IIR crossovers can be used, too.”

Audinate delivers a no-hassle, self configuring, true plug-and-play digital audio network that uses standard internet protocols. Audinate’s Dante system offers a market leading solution today, while future-proofing implementations by providing a migration path to upgrade to new standards such as the IEEE Audio Video Bridging (“AVB”).

“The development and roll-out of the new Dante HD2 was very quick by integrating Audinate’s Dante Brooklyn II module”, says John McMahon Audinate’s VP of Sales and Support.  “We are looking forward to success with the HD2 and the other Dante enabled products Four Audio have in development.”

The HD2 will also available as a module (PCB) to be built into speakers or racks for active speakers, installations, etc. Dante offers exciting new possibilities and reduces cost and effort for audio cabling. HD2 devices and modules will be available in Q3 2011.

A complete demonstration of the HD2 and other Four Audio products can been seen at Hall 8, Stand N84
